FAKE mixed media rock using one product – Mixed media art refers to a visual art form that combines a variety of media in a single artwork. For example, if you draw with ink, then paint over it with watercolors, then add some highlights in colored pencil – that’s mixed media! We use one thing – paint pens.
I’ve had questions sent to me about inks and other mediums on rocks so I decided to show you how to create a mixed media look only using paint pens. And no need to buy a heap of supplies you may not have .
A lot of products are for paper use , they change the way they react on a rock – inks etc – so I’ve gone acrylic paint the whole way ! I used acrylic paint in the form of paint pens.

As we go through the steps here is a step tip for you
Tip – Mod Podge ingredients are made to act as a resist on non paper items . I’ve shown you how to do this . It is a layer of resist to stop the paint going where you don’t want it to . Of course you can skip this step. I am just showing you how to create a resist method in an area you do not want to build up too many layers of paint . It is not a step that is highly needed – but I wanted to show you how mod podge naturally works as a resist when base coated on your rock and how easily it peels off with any paint on top of it .
