Goldfish in a bag created by Anne Whitlock – Kriayts
inspired by Chris Oatley
Boo told me this morning she wanted her own pet, not just the shared family dog. I was asking but what would you want? Oh we picked out quite a few favourites… Drama Llama. teacup pig, Vegetarian Otter, Goose watchdog… my favourite though was a goldfish in a bag.
Yes it has to be in a bag! When I was little we had this huge fair each year – The Ekka. It was fabulous – you know the rides, show bags, pavilions, fairy floss and of course strawberry icecreams!
It is not the same any more but it was such a fun day out that our Nana took us to (sometimes twice, if she had a win on the races)
The one I was not allowed to play was where you would pay your dollar and try to catch a goldfish. Man all I wanted was that goldfish in a bag. I was so envious of those kids walking about holding their bags of goldfish.
I mean…. now I know they would of been dead in a day but that did not stop the dreams of having my very own goldfish in a bag.
Childhood dreams…. guess I best take Boo out later and go hunting for a drama Llama to hide in her room – Surely noone will notice? But we can tick it off the list of having her very own personal pet…..
I think I am officially the worst Mimi ever – no the grandkid do not think so – but my kids dread all the fabulous ideas I plant in their heads.???I love being a Mimi it’s so much more fun than being a Mum.

Colour on your rock – I have painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the paint evaporates. CLICK HERE to find out how best to paint on rocks!..

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush CLICK HERE to learn the technique

Use a black colour pen and outline  the image, Great pens for outlines are Posca 1m, 1mr or the 0.7m size in Tooli-Art or Artistro.

And if you want to add a touch of highlight –  pop on a few dots and dashes of white paint .
