The monsoon rains are really giving my garden a workout!
But I have my determined Rose Bush that just never gives up ???
Many many years ago The Kid’s rabbit gave birth -to our shock – never knew she was pregnant and then thought she was having a heart attack ?
Anyway she had a still born and then the cutest wee baby that no one had any clue what to do with it – not even Frankie the mummy rabbit.
Now for clarity we are in semi rural Nepal so can’t pop down to the pet store or vet to get syringes or formula and help to attend to the wee baby rabbit or by now neurotic mummy rabbit who was a baby herself.
Well we managed for 10 days but it was not to be – our poor wee Scarlet passed away and The Kid (7/8 yrs old) was beside herself, she had worked tirelessly to save Scarlet.
So then instead she planned the grandest bunny funeral that ever happened.
We buried her and she was decorated with a stick cross and painted rocks. Followed by a beautiful red rose bush.
Now back to the Rose and not my memory Lane. 8ish years later that rose is still going strong and flowers everytime everything around it is going nuts.
In the opposite garden the corn and beans are copping a monsoon beating- falling down everywhere. Our Scarlet Rose? She is just standing tall throwing out beautiful red roses ? and it just reminded me of how dedicated and strong ‘The Kid’ was back as a youngin – dedicating her time to Scarlet who tried to hang on. And just how strong The Kid was with her first pet death and the celebration of life she planned even though she was so sad.
Stand strong my friends- be a Scarlet Rose in monsoon- SHINE bright ????
Not a red rose but a lovely bloom of love and light .

Draw the design on your rock.  CLICK HERE to learn how to transfer your image on to your rock.

Colour on your rock – I have painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the paint evaporates. CLICK HERE to find out how best to paint on rocks!..

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush CLICK HERE to learn the technique

Use a black colour pen and outline  the image, Great pens for outlines are Posca 1m, 1mr or the 0.7m size in Tooli-Art or Artistro.

And if you want to add a touch of highlight –  pop on a few dots and dashes of white paint .
