Rocks Rocks and more rocks!

But you just can’t find that special one to create your latest idea. Have you ever thought about what type rocks there are and where they are available?

We have found some great go to rocks by hunting about a bit and enjoy a variety of white sparkly Santorini’s too black marbled river rocks. We are super lucky that our local landscaping supplies stock our favourites but we can grab some online as well….

Let’s chat rocks …..

Have a small think about what is the most important to you – colour and size are the two things that help us decide  when choosing rocks. I am describing here in comments the particular rocks in the links not the rocks in general as their colour & sizes are endless. Left to Right – Click on their photo or orange name for links

1. River rocks – River Rocks always have a well rounded surface to them, no jagged edges, these rocks are eroded by water running over them which gives the smooth finish. These rocks are 100 percent natural, unpolished, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes within the 3.5” – 5” inch range.( 85mm – 120mm)

2. Lights – These are slightly porous and light in colour, not as smooth as the river rocks. These particular ones are  about 2 inches (50mm) in length

3. Santorini RocksSantorini Premium White Marble is one of the most exquisite natural stones in the world. The pieces are tumbled smooth to create a gorgeous rock perfect for decorative landscaping. The stones have also become a favorite of rock painters because of their perfectly smooth, flat surface and inherent sparkle. Pure white and glittery all the way from Greece – 1-3″ (25mm-75mm)

1. Flat Painting Rocks – Double sided smooth rock Canvases – 2″ (50mm) in length
2. Pinks – these match the Kashmiri Pinks in Australia that we paint our tutorials on they have a flat surface but a slightly porous finish  1.5″ – 2.5″ (40-60mm)
3. Mixed Size The stones are mixed in sizes and a great pack to start with
