Nana’s Vase of Flowers – Anne Whitlock
What colours are the flowers in your vase? I had to add orange ones to my vase of course. I remember growing up my Nana always had vases of fresh flowers. Gardening was her passion and a bunch of flowers consisted of everything and anything and nothing matched – but always full of colour.
We had the best few months when we signed up for florist night classes at the local adult education college. The goal of the class was to learn to arrange flowers. From then on there were ‘full on’ floral display arrangements ! They were so gorgeous not from a florist point of view but from a fabulous mish mash of garden flowers point of view.
She never drove and as a kid I remember she would catch the bus or train for a visit carrying a huge bunch of flowers. She never arrived without flowers. She was a housekeeper for Douglas, a wealthy Lawyer and she would turn up there each Friday with a huge bunch of flowers for his bench. It did not matter who you were, you could always look forward to a fabulous mish mash of flowers. I miss her garden of joy and even more, I miss her ❤
I think I shall keep this wee rock on my desk for a while ❤ ❤ ❤

Colour on your rock – I have painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the paint evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!.

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush CLICK HERE to learn the technique –
