Beach Scene Rock Painting Tutorial

It is 12 days – 12 days until The Kid gets her license and it will not be a day to soon. Or will it?
She has the most fabulous adventures – I love the things she plans and gets up to with her friends. On her birthday last week she decided to watch the sunrise at a local beach with friends, then head to breakfast, eventually ending up at church.
Yayyyyy the day was clear weather the only thing was Dad (not me) had to get up and drive her to the beach , grabbing a friend on the way so the adventure started at 4am🤣
Then he sat there (instructions were no closer than 100 mts) as it was dark still until more friends arrived on the beach so it was safe for the girls. Yes you heard correct – Mum stayed home in bed.
We imagine the day when The Kid gets her license and can just start getting to her own adventures…..
But then it is kinda sad when the baby of the family grows up…. the license means no more car pooling, listening to the fun of friends in the car on the way to adventures, meeting everyone…. boy talk…. reviews about cafes ….. where to find the best icecream …. heading to new heard of places …. and the best bit, the midnight carpool home after parties – hearing all about who went, what happened and the sleepy joy stories about her last adventure 🥲

Colour on your rock – I have painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the paint evaporates. CLICK HERE to find out how best to paint on rocks!.. 

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush CLICK HERE to learn the technique 

Use a black colour pen and outline  the image, Great pens for outlines are Posca 1m, 1mr or the 0.7m size in Tooli-Art or Artistro.

And if you want to add a touch of highlight –  pop on a few dots and dashes of white paint .
