Hula Hoops! Who loved playing hula hoops? This and elastics were my absolute favourites to play ?

The absolute rush to get to the playground equipment room the second the lunch bell rang was so important. We had to line up and request what equipment we wanted and sign it out for lunch play. And we all knew if you were late you got the tiny bamboo hoops – not the gorgeous bright big stripy ones we all had our heart set on each day .

When ‘The Kid’ (my now teen) was growing up in Nepal. hula hoops were not a thing so we got inventive and headed down to the local plumbers – pipes and tapes and about ten kids in tow we had hula hoops within hours –
So much fun and the Local kids had a great time joining us on our hula hoop adventure in the front garden. What colour was your hula hoop ? I could do hip, neck and arm rotations but never mastered legs – how about you ? Such fun ????

Grab your paint or paint pen and come smoosh some paint with us on YouTube

Colour on your rock – I have just painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the base evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush click on the below image to learn the technique – or head to YouTube to watch how I do the shading.
