?? Walt’s Bumble Bee ? ?
Inspired by Whipper Snapper
My wee boy Walt is on the way for a visit so I’m again getting his rocks ready . He lives 10 hours away so I like to have a box of rocks ready for him to take home and hide …. Or keep … so his sister informs me ??
? This is Walt’s Bumble Bee ?
When I saw the image it reminded me of this photo of Walt giving Boo a flower . Bumbly little rascal he is ?Walt’s rocks are Grey and always rough he collects them for me to paint . And many friends here in the group say they can’t paint their local rocks as they are grey and rough – and I ask why not? Are you deciding that light coloured smooth rocks are the only way ?
Are you thinking smooth flat rocks are the perfect ones and not seeing those gorgeous rough rocks? Yes the rough rocks need to be handled differently . My pen pressure is lighter snd done in more strokes where I lift up and not back and forth. But these ricks turn out great – I’m starting to love them more visually .
Ive got a few more to go for Walt so expect some more perfect grey bumpy rock tutorials ? Don’t dismiss a rock because you have judged what it should look like – Walt doesn’t he just collects rocks and see all possibilities.
??Be more like Walt ?? Have an awesome day !

Draw the design on your rock.  Click on the image below to learn how to draw on Rocks

Colour on your rock – I have just painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the base evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush click on the below image to learn the technique – or head to YouTube to watch how I do the shading.
