Cats, Hearts & Zentangle – Love from Anne

I have done my regular 4 step process to creating the rock image
Now take your black acrylic paint pen and draw the outlines then start filling in the hearts with your different marks that will create your zen tangle . Add white highlights at the end and if you like a sticker glow add this colour around tt
he outside edge.
Do the whiskers absolutely last !
The colours I used today are Posca brand acrylic Paint Pens using a monochromatic colour scheme – Many tints of one colour – Pink
Cat – Pink with Raspberry shading
Heart – Raspberry
Heart – Lt Pink with Raspberry shading
Black for outlines and the zentangle design and white for highlights.
The trick to getting nice lines is to have a nice clean tip on your black pen and use light pressure- do not press down any heavier than the weight of the pen. Use a black pen and outline  the image, I used Posca 1mr pens

And if you want to add a touch of highlight –  pop on a few dots and dashes of white paint .

Colour on your rock – I have just painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the base evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!

This rock has no shading but you can try some if you like .

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush click on the below image to learn the technique – or head to YouTube to watch how I do the shading.
