My Island home … My Island home… is waiting for me .
(all the Aussie’s in the room just sang that with me right?!)
And I am keen for when it is safe to travel again to just sit and kick back on a beach in Bali – cocktail in hand! But I guess we all are more than ready. In the meantime it will be all about Islands on rocks.
I am lucky I am living in the Hinterland behind one of Australia’s Iconic beach and the golden sand is gorgeous! It was Bali where I discovered black sand… and rocks on a beach – Oh my I had read about it but it had never entered my reality.
My Hubby is British so he thought nothing of rocks on a beach but he entertained my daily wonder and walks up the beach each day… I loved painting my background colours on my canvasses and collecting beach glass ! I love connecting on different beaches – How about you ?
Use a black colour pen and outline the image, I use Posca 1m or 1mr – Artistro or Tooli-Art 0.7m pens.
And if you want to add a touch of highlight – pop on a few dots and dashes of white paint .
You can find awesome fine Pens to help you with this here

Colour on your rock – I have just painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the base evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!
Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush click on the below image to learn the technique – or head to YouTube to watch how I do the shading.
