Ahhhh a morning cuppa ? my favourite thing to do at 4am . I had this rock drawn out on my desk for a while now and I never painted it. I never knew why she sat uncoloured just hanging about on my desk. I figured one day she would speak up . I guess today is her day .
I had the honour of receiving a beautiful rock with this image on my birthday from a special member here Alka ? I included her rock .
The beautiful rock inspired me to paint mine and share it with you . As much as I just don’t know who the original creator is of this image as it is widely used, My inspiration today is Alka ??Sometimes we just can’t track the original artist – but we do know who’s art inspired our rock .
When I started sharing tutorials I never included who was my inspiration, I never gave it a thought. Half were my ideas BUT half were not . They were inspired by another artist. That was a bit self involved I came to realise . So I became focused on acknowledging my inspiration ‘seeing’ the artist that inspired me. Even digital artists ! They spend time creating as well.
My goal now is to mention who inspired me and I ask members in the group to do the same . How awesome is it to recognise a person that inspired you ???
?We don’t ‘own’ the rights to all the images on the internet just because they’re there. Pinterest did not inspire us , that gorgeous artist that shared their image on Pinterest did though . Let’s make it a 2022 group goal and when we post our beautiful creations give a shout-out to the person that inspired us ?If you are sharing a Reef Rocks tutorial picture with us include the tutorial link for others to easily find it.
??Let’s do this together ! Group Goal for 2022 acknowledging who inspired us ?? It takes nothing away from our beautiful creations to do so ! I know I for one am going to try even harder in 2022 to do this, how about you ?

Draw the design on your rock.  Click on the image below to learn how to draw on Rocks

Colour on your rock – I have just painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the base evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush click on the below image to learn the technique – or head to YouTube to watch how I do the shading.
