Just a few elements I like so I joined them all together on this rock.it is for my daughter in Nepal who we have not seen for 20 months as we can’t travel between countries. And the Nepal festivals are coming up in 12 days so that’s a bit sad . Here is how I chose the elements-

?Purple background and shading it is her favourite colour.

? Teal as my contrasting colour as I’ve noticed all crazy cat ladies like purple and teal together- and we are crazy for our black Nepali cat her name is Florence
?Prayer Flags – even though she has grown up surrounded by them she never knew that a prayer was printed on them and as the wind blows the prayers go out to the universe . So we make our own and write what we like on them to send our prayer out there.
?Namaste greeting with hand gesture I have added a picture of what this greeting means
?Bangles – we love them ??
And this one just kept being ‘wrong’ I knew something was wrong and could not pinpoint it – I was obsessed with the ‘wrong’ until I changed my thinking pattern . I just decided it was what it was meant to be and accepted my interpretation as ‘right’ as all our art is – it is right for us. You can’t look at what another creates and see what They see. So you can never say it’s wrong and correct them . So why was I so busy worrying about correcting my own art instead of just creating and enjoying the process. So I just started shading and thinking of my girl.
And then I realised – I had not drawn the mudra (hand symbol) correctly and the thought just peacefully dropped in to my thought process .
The greeting of Namaste ?? is done using the
Añjali mudrā where the hands are pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards, thumbs close to the chest. This gesture is called añjali mudrā; and I just had too many fingers in my drawing .
I love acrylic paint and pens they are opaque and layerable using a layer of paint pen I had it all fixed up . And was adding my favourite symbols of Lotus and Aum in no time.
And that is the long winded version of how this rock came to be . It’s personal story .
If you will be creating this rock here is the link to use if you share it on social media ???

Colour on your rock – I have just painted a nice even layer. You do not want to paint it to thick. The more layers on the rock the more chance it has of peeling off later as the water in the base evaporates. Click on the image below to find out how best to paint on rocks!

Shading makes all the difference to the end result. Adds depth to the Image.
I use clean water and a size 2 or 4 filbert taklon paintbrush click on the below image to learn the technique – or head to YouTube to watch how I do the shading.
